This Day in History: 1944-12-22

During the Battle of Bastogne in Belgium (Battle of the Bulge), Nazis surround 101st Airborne Division and give them an ultimatum to surrender.  The response from the Commanding Officer General Anthony Clement McAuliffe was his famous “NUTS!”.  Submarine Swordfish departs Pearl Harbor for Japan.
