The merger of the National Football League (NFL) Chicago Cardinals and the Pittsburgh Steelers was dissolved the day after the season ended. The team was 0-10 for the year.  A Civil War breaks out in newly-liberated Greece between communists and royalists.   Britain’s Home Guard (‘Dad’s Army’) is officially stood down at a special farewell parade in Hyde Park, London.
