U.S. troops occupy airport of Port-Lyautey, Morocco.  U.S. & British troops occupy Oran, Algeria.  Prime Minister Winston Churchill delivered a speech in London in which he said, “I have not become the King’s First Minister to preside over the liquidation of the British Empire”.  Philip Barry’s “Without Love” premieres in New York City.
