British Prime Minister Winston Churchill flies back to London from Moscow.  Canadian troops liberate Aardenburg, Netherlands.  John Van Druten’s “I Remember Mama” premieres in NYC.  The U.S. Navy began accepting black women into WAVES (Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service).  U.S. forces land in Philippines.
