The 2nd Canadian Division occupies Falaise, Normandy. Dutch begin diplomatic contact with Vatican in London.  U.S. Army XV Corps reaches the Eure River in Normandy and surrounds Dreux.  First flight of the Junkers Ju 287, an aerodynamic testbed built in Nazi Germany and used to develop the technology required for a multi-engine jet bomber.
