Joseph P. Kennedy Jr., the eldest son of Joseph and Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy, was killed with his co-pilot when their explosives-laden Navy plane exploded over England. Waffen SS troops massacre 560 people (130 were children) in Sant’Anna di Stazzema, Tuscany, Italy.
