Over 500 killed in London & South Eastern England by German flying bombs.  Delegates from 44 countries began meeting at Bretton Woods, New Hampshire, where they agreed to establish the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.  Graf (Count) Claus von Stauffenberg promoted to Colonel.  General Dwight D. Eisenhower visits front in Normandy.  U.S. headquarter moves to Colombières, Normandy.  German Karl Rudolf Gerd von Rundstedt told Field Marshall Wilhelm Keitel: “Sign peace, idiots!”
