United Nations Relief & Rehabilitation Administration forms.  The “Zoot Suits Riots” began when a mob of 60 white servicemen from the Los Angeles Naval Reserve Armory clashed with young Latinos wearing distinctive-looking zoot suits.  The week-long violence ended when military officials declared the city off limits to enlisted personnel.
