This Day in History: 1945-05-02

Allies occupy Wismar, Northern Germany.  Dutch Queen Wilhelmina & Princess Juliana reach Gilze-Rijen, Netherlands.   The Battle of Berlin ends with the Soviet Union announcing the fall of Berlin and the surrender of General Helmuth Weidling.  The Allies announced the surrender of Nazi troops in Italy and parts of Austria. Yugoslav troops occupy Trieste, Italy.
