Pinball machines were banned in New York City after a Bronx magistrate ruled they were gambling devices that relied on chance rather than skill (the ban was lifted in 1976).  Count Basie records “One O’Clock Jump” for Okeh Records (on this date in 1937 they recorded it for Decca Records).  Tito’s partisans occupy Foca, Turkey.
