Allied Conference on war trials.

The St. James Declaration was signed in London calling for punishment of those found responsible for criminal acts perpetrated by the Germans against civilian populations, while urging the international community to avoid acts of vengeance by prosecuting war criminals through the channels of organized justice. German U-boats begin harassing shipping on US east coast.  Henry Ford patents a method of constructing plastic auto bodies. First use of an aircraft ejection seat by a German test pilot in a Heinkel He 280 jet fighter.
